Have you considered becoming a member of the Willowville PTO?
When you are a member of the PTO you help to reinforce our commitment to fulfilling our mission of supporting the students, teachers, and staff of Willowville Elementary School. Your family's membership is not a commitment to volunteer. However, our success is possible because of the generosity, effort and time our families give towards making a difference in our children's' lives.
Why should I join the Willowville PTO?
Because YOU care about your child and WE want to provide the best educational experience for ALL the students. The school’s budget can only go so far after salaries, building maintenance, books, technology, staff needs, so we encourage EVERYONE to contribute because EVERY dollar benefits our students.
What are the perks of having a Willowville PTO membership?
- Full voting rights at PTO Meetings
- Full voting rights in PTO Board Elections
- Attending PTO meetings get you the inside track on new developments
- Socializing with other parents
- Kids are proud of their loved one's involvement
- Parent/Caregiver involvement is a powerful tool!
Where Will My Donation Go?
Your donation will pay for academic and enrichment programs which are not funded by the school’s budget. Click on the "Where Will My Donation Go" tab above to see how much the Willowville PTO does for our school community.
Willowville PTO Myths vs. Facts
Myth: The PTO is just for stay-at-home moms.
FACT: The PTO is for everyone! Our volunteers are mothers, fathers and those who fill those roles. We have a wide range of volunteers who: stay-at-home; work part-time to full-time; have little ones at home, preschoolers, high schoolers and/or college students; and more. We have volunteer opportunities for both weekday and evenings.
Myth: The PTO has all the help they need. My participation will not make a difference.
FACT: The biggest myth of all! We want and need your help and participation! We have board positions that need to be filled and we need volunteers to help at all our events. If you choose to volunteer, you decide the time commitment. New ideas are always welcome - it's an important way to keep the PTO fresh and exciting. Just pass on the signup if you do not want to participate. No guilt, and seriously no pressure.
Myth: Volunteering for the PTO takes too much time.
FACT: Only YOU can decide how much time you can give. We understand that your time is valuable. All levels of participation are welcome and needed. Even if you can help at just one event or handle one task per year.
Myth: The PTO moms know each other really well and are just a big clique.
FACT: The majority of the active PTO members do know each other as a result of working together on various PTO projects, but our group is friendly & welcoming to ALL. Give us a chance to get to know you too! No guilt or pressure, all are welcome.
